COURSE OBJECTIVES
By the end of the course, participants should be able to:

Apply the skills learnt in organizing speeches/presentations;
Control the fear factor and consider the voice factor;
Know the value of verbal and non-verbal language;
Convey the message of the speeches/presentations with confidence and conviction.

Let’s get down to business (The 10 Commandments of public speaking)
– 1 st Commandment – You should think before you speak (audience and purpose)
– 2 nd Commandment – You should analyse your speech (audience analysis)
– 3 rd Commandment – You should research your speech (primary/secondary)
– 4 th Commandment – You should create an outline (introduction/body/conclusion)
– 5 th Commandment – You should pretest your outline (writing/testing}
– 6 th Commandment – You should write the speech draft (language/editing)
– 7 th Commandment – You should deliver (verbal and body language)
– 8 th Commandment – You should be prepared for anything (bloopers/remedies)
– 9 th Commandment – You should answer audience’s questions (anticipate/prepare)
– 10 th Commandment -You should publicize your speech (before/after speech)
